1. Welcome and Introductions

• Andy welcomed attendees and provided an overview of the agenda.
• Attendees introduced themselves.

2. Update on Stretford Town Centre Redevelopment

• Bruntwood provided a general update with works on high street on track with the intention it to be fully operational by Oct
• An events programme leading up to the high street opening in place including Art Battle on 20 June
• Mark Todd provided an accessibility update and offered accessibility advice to individual retailers should they require it
• Cllr Patel provided an additional update, acknowleding some of the issues but that the partnership value independent businesses
• It was added that while all the units had not been agreed, it wouldn’t be dominated by purely national chains.
• It was suggested there would be an update on the provision of community space at the next meeting in November
• There was a subsequent discussion about supporting a vibrant night time economy and ensuring the area feels safe, well-lit and accessible for everyone.

3. Longford Park update

Rachel Lake from Trafford Council shared emerging ideas for Longford Park, which remains one of the borough’s most important green spaces. She flagged the prospect for community use of the Long Barn for a period of time and the work would be starting in earnest in Autumn 2025.
